It was a real pleasure to host the start of the 6-day TransRockies Run from Buena Vista to Beaver Creek earlier this month! More than 300 racers from across the country and the globe filled the streets of South Main, snapping commemorative shots and filling the neighborhood with excitement. Covering 120 miles, and 20,000 feet of climbing, the race took runners through the Colorado Rockies, starting in Buena Vista and visiting historic Colorado sites like Leadville, Camp Hale, Red Cliff, and Vail. The GORE-TEX® TransRockies Run is often called “summer camp for adults” and the 2012 edition was no exception. Check out our gallery below of the start on the morning of August 14th. More info about the race and results here.
