There’s all kinds of information about the upcoming Collegiate Peaks Music Festival over at BVmusicfest.com. Below you will find answers to some “Frequently Asked Questions” [that's what FAQ means, FYI ]
If you have a particular question about this years festival, please read the questions and answers below. If you do not see the answer to your question feel free to email email@example.com. We promise to respond to ALL emails.
Q:Are pets allowed at this years music festival?
A:Pets are allowed everywhere in South Main (river park, all open streets, parking lots, etc) except for the town square, which will be fenced off. The reason that we are not allowing pets on the lawn is because we are expecting a full house, and the lawn is a limited capacity venue. We love dogs way too much to allow them in such a tight space. It would not be very comfortable for them-dogs like eating sardines much more than being in a sardine can. Arrowhead Point Campground offers dog boarding as well as camping.
Q:Are single day passes available?
A: We are not offering single day passes. Thursday July 28th is a free show to the general public (Missed The Boat and The Drew Emmitt Band of Leftover Salmon). Friday and Saturday are both included with the weekend pass for $35. Keep in mind that the price of the weekend pass is about as much as a solo Keller Williams show usually is – and for the money you get a whole bunch of awesome bands included too!
Q:What is the weather usually like? Will it rain? Can I get a refund if it does?
A:This is Colorado. BE READY FOR ANYTHING. Hopefully it will be pleasant and sunny the entire weekend. This however is not always the case with outdoor music festivals in the mountains. Rain, wind, hail and even snow are distinct possibilities (even in late July) that make Colorado such a unique place. Bring a rain jacket, and some warm layers for the headline shows in the evening. In case you were wondering, it was sunny and in the mid to upper 80′s for the entire festival last year. There is no refund if it rains. Musicians are used to playing in the elements (especially in Colorado). In fact, some incredible live performances have happened in torrential downpours, or shortly thereafter.
Q:Is there camping this year?
A:We do not have on site camping this year. We have however partnered with Arrowhead Point Campground. They have plenty of camping options ranging from camp sites, to yurts and cabins. There will be plenty of festivarians staying there, and it ought to be plenty of fun.
Q:Is this festival kid friendly?
A:Yes, the festival is kid friendly. Children under 12 are FREE! We will have all kinds of food and drinks for young ones…maybe even a “make your own hoola hoop station”.
Q:Will there be on site parking?
A:We will have a limited amount of paid on site parking. There is plenty of free parking in Buena Vista. South Main(festival venue) is less than a half mile from the center of town. We HIGHLY recommend bringing bicycles with you. BV is one of the most bike friendly towns around. We’ll have bike racks at the show too. Why drive your car after a long day of partying when you can cruise around on your bike!
Q:Where is South Main?
A: South Main is located in Buena Vista, Colorado on the banks of The Arkansas River. There is one set of lights in Buena Vista (on HWY 24). Turn East at the lights (away from the mountains) and head down Main Street towards the river. Drive down Main St until the pavement turns to gravel, then turn right on South Main Street, following the signs to South Main. The Town Square (venue) is on the river.
