With Keller Williams headlining, we are thrilled to host the 2011 Collegiate Peaks Music Festival in the South Main Town Square this July 28th-30th! We wrote a few months ago about some of the event’s new organizers,  South Main residents Bobby and Angela Kuepper. Well the new organizers are really taking the festival to a new level again this year, bringing top shelf national talent to our beautiful mountain town. Keller will be joined by Kyle Hollingsworth Band, The Drew Emmitt Band (of Leftover Salmon), The Motet, Eufórquestra and Elephant Revival among many others. Don’t miss this epic festival that is sure to put BV on the festival map!

“After careful consideration, The 2011 Collegiate Peaks Music Festival has strategically planned a lineup of top shelf talent that has been proven to ROCK Colorado music fans. The festival will be held in The South Main neighborhood of sunny Buena Vista, CO. Acts including, but not limited to, Keller Williams, Kyle Hollingsworth Band, The Drew Emmitt Band, The Motet, Eufórquestra, Elephant Revival, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, DJ Harry, Missed The Boat, Lance Herbstrong, Justin Jones, Empresarios, Eames Brothers Band, The Funk Ark, Sunwolf and These United States will take main stage in the town square adjacent to one of the largest whitewater playparks in the U.S. In addition to a powerhouse lineup of world class musicians, this year’s event will also have a whitewater component, including a Stand Up Paddling (SUP) down river race, a SUP freestyle surf expo, and a whitewater kayak rodeo. Let the games begin!

South Main is a New Urbanist neighborhood nestled between the Arkansas River and The Collegiate Peaks / Sawatch Mountains (highest concentration of 14,000′ mountains in The USA).

We chose this venue because it offers a world class platform to host a musical event in tandem with multiple water-based sporting competitions. Colorado is concentrated with healthy, active individuals who love live music, and we designed a hybrid festival catering to both populations. With a successful history for both music and sporting events, South Main proves to be the ideal locale.

Keller Williams is a Colorado music icon with tenure on the national scale as well. He has mesmerized audiences all over the world with his virtuoso guitar skills and euphoric voice. As a solo act, Keller is on par with any current live touring band in the world. Our goal is to provide a heightened live experience that is unique to this venue. We want to create a place where artists can explore their creative side and delve into a musical plane not normally associated with a $25 weekend festival.

The going rate for a headline quality concert in Colorado is about $50. Multi-day music festivals range from about $55 to upwards of $150. The CPMF comes in priced to sell, with $25 tickets for the entire weekend (including a free night on Thursday). In short, we are offering nationally
recognized and respected talent, at a reasonable rate. We are determined to be the not-so- hidden gem of summer music festivals.

Sweltering improvisational guitar jams, irresistible conga drum grooves, homegrown Nederland-style Colorado jamgrass, and a world class river sports competition are the key ingredients for a successful 2011 Collegiate Peaks Music Festival.
