Buena Vista, colorado live musicI think it’s safe to say that most folks in Buena Vista aren’t totally accustomed to sold out live music in the middle of winter, but that’s just what the 200 or so people who showed up Saturday night got. Steamboat-based Missed the Boat delivered the goods to a full, dancing house. Great energy, great music, great cause; the funds raised by the event will help us polish our already amazing whitewater park.

Thanks not only to the band and party goers, but to all the awesome local folks and businesses that helped make this benefit possible, including ,  South Main homeowner Bobby Kuepper, Earl Richmond of CKS, Eddie at The Asian Palate and South Main homeowner Jeff Bojar for providing the stage. “It was great that the band was into the cause,” said Bobby. “They’re all outdoorsy guys from Steamboat who really thought our river park was cool. They really brought it because of that. It’s also great for The 5Spot Live Music Series to have a band play for the first time; I think the numbers proved that. Also a huge thanks to PBR for donating the beer.”

Here’s what long-time Buena Vista Whitewater Park booster Earl Richmond had to say about the event:

“Missed the Boat is incredibly talented. They put on a great show and are awesome entertainers. Along with that they are very professional, kind and courteous…

PBR- Pabst Blue Ribbon, stepped up to the plate as the premier beer sponsor. The product was delivered on time and was accompanied with super cool “swag” that everyone truly enjoyed. With an ice cold PBR and live music to raise funds for the River Park…….you just cannot go wrong.

The Asian Palate in Buena Vista, opened their doors for us with open arms. Embracing the opportunity to show their true support of the BV River Park. It is a small venue, but the sound in there is incredible. All the staff there went out of their way to make everyone feel at home.

And to the rest of the community that showed up and helped out and volunteered with their time and positive energy. I have never seen so many people so stoked and energized after an event like this. Attendees left with a huge smiles while showing their true appreciation for the cause.

Our goal is to make the Buena Vista River Park the best it can be for our community and our guests of Buena Vista. And after the show of support from the event, we promise to deliver this to you all.

Thanks
Earl Richmond

Wish I could have been there. Sounds like it was a super fun party. Good job to everyone who worked to pull it off. I hope it raised a nice chunk of change for the whitewater park. Will Missed the Boat be back for Paddlefest?
