The Pump A Thon is On! Make BV’s Bike Park Possible

Here’s a message from Earl Richmond of Colorado Kayak Supply about another great public park amenity in our River Park.

For those of you that do not know, Buena Vista and Northern Chaffee County are very close to getting our public Pump Track built.  It will be located in front of the Buena Vista Community Center adjacent to the Buena Vista River Park at the end of East Main Street, just north of South Main. This facility will be a great resource for kids and adults of all biking abilities to improve their skills in a controlled environment.  Look at it like a skate park for bikers.  With a little bit of fundraising this will be a reality for us all to use for years to come at no cost.  Construction can start as early as November, 2010.

Here’s How You Can Help

Come to the fundraiser on October 23rd at Eddyline Brewpub. Fun mountain bike ride at 2 p.m., dinner at 5 p.m., silent auction from 5-8 p.m., movie at 8 p.m. Easy and breezy way to raise additional cash and awareness for the facility.

If you cannot make it, you can buy raffle tickets for a cool pump track bike that is being raffled off.  You do not need to be present to win.  This is being donated by GT Bikes.

Or if you can not attend the fundraiser, you can donate by clicking here.

If you’re wondering “what the heck is a pump track!?” here’s a video of Salida’s track in action. Cheers!
