Nearly 2 years ago, the Town of Buena Vista was awarded its second Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant to help fund further Buena Vista River Park improvements, including construction of the new LoDo Wave (site of the 3rd annual BV Pro Rodeo), and the three public rock climbing boulders in and around South Main. Public, outdoor climbing boulders of these quality are nationally unique, and they are about to make their debut with the broader climbing community.
On September 11th, our boulders will host the first and only outdoor stop on the American Bouldering Series (ABS) competition circuit. Competitive rock climbers will come to Buena Vista to earn points in an effort to qualify for national level competitions like the National Championships and World Cup. This promises to be a great spectator event, and all registration proceeds will benefit the river park.
Even if you’ve never competed, there’s a class for every level. Here’s all the info:
Divisions: Junior, Recreational, Intermediate, Advanced, Open
